I was not taught to BELIEVE in reincarnation, though, I know that many cultures do believe in it. I have many friends that believe. I have read stories, watched videos, heard people talk about their past lives. BY NOW, it seems that there is ENOUGH EVIDENCE to at least make me WONDER about it. Why can people visit places and get a Deja Vu feeling, or know things about the place, or even ‘remember’ things that have happened there even though it is their first time visiting? Why are people ATTRACTED to some people and places yet repelled by others? Why do you think ‘I KNOW YOU’?
I had a friend – actually an ex husband – who went through hypnosis. The person hypnotizing him was a friend of ours who also practices Oriental Medicine. She is Asian who grew up in the same religious practice as me; therefore, she was not taught to believe in it, either. Yet, when my friend (we were married at the time) went to see her and was put under hypnosis, he found himself on horseback. He was leading an army of men and they knew they couldn’t win the battle they were in, so they were TURNING BACK. He was upset about all the bloodshed. When he got back to his home, he turned over his homestead COMPLETELY to his wife and two sons and left them. He went to a monastery, or something like that, to live out the rest of his life, trying to FIND PEACE.
Now, when he was telling me the story, it was interesting to HEAR, but when he came to the part about leaving his wife and sons, I felt an anger rise in me that I could not ACCOUNT for. I remember thinking something like “You left me to take care of everything alone!” WOW, I took a step back to ‘hear’ what I had just said to myself. BTW – we have two sons. I contacted the hypnotist to QUESTION her about “past lives” and how it was not a part of our religious teaching. She agreed, but she said she could not deny that sometimes her clients ended up in places that she could not explain. She said they were not DREAMing, nor did she believe they were making the stories up. hmmm….
Without going into the details of two other stories I learned about – one in the newspaper in the 80s and one on a video I rented from the library. In both cases the mothers die, one in childbirth, one of illness. Both these mothers came back in the LIFETIMES of their children who were much older by then. Both women were born in another country but had memories of the one they had ‘lived’ in before their deaths. Both went back and RECONNECTED to their PAST children because they were still alive. One reconnected to her husband. WOW. How do you explain that? Other VISIONARY people have talked to me about MY PAST LIFE and HOW IT LOOKED. hmmm…
Well, somewhere in my studies in metaphysical, SPIRITUAL, medicinal, and ALTERNATIVE HEALINGS and how we are ALL CONNECTED (quantum physics seems to have lots of ANSWERS, or at least some really GOOD questions), I’ve come to the belief that these ‘past lives’ are imbedded in our cells. I had thought, if diseases, addictions, LOOKS, mannerisms, etc. can be passed through family lines, why can’t memories? Maybe it is the memories of our ancestors that COME TO LIGHT in us. More and more people, including the medical field, seem to be thinking THIS WAY, also. And if memories, as well as all OUR LIFE EXPERIENCES ARE RECORDED IN OUR CELLS (and show in OUR FACE), can it account for when we have thoughts, or do things we have hard times CHANGING, like negative thoughts or behaviors? Are they hard-wired in us? Is it more than just being in our limbic system? Is that why disease grows in us even when we do EVERYTHING RIGHT? Do we get the GOOD STUFF, too? Yes. And they, memories, can be REACTIVATED, also.
THANK GOD, there is Someone Greater than us, who knows this, and gives us ways in which to heal, Who never leaves us, and Who will never abandon us. Prayer TRANSFORMS. Add to it COMMITMENT, belief, gratitude, LOVE AND FORGIVENESS. Believe in PURE LOVE – It will HEAL all. Namaste.
